Moving To Maryland With Only 5 Barley Loaves and 2 Fish

The news is out. We're planning to move to Maryland this August so that Aaron can attend the Sovereign Grace Pastors College. This is something we have both been praying about for several years and we are rejoicing in the Lord's direction and provision. Lord willing, we will be gone from August until next June.

January 4th, 2008 journal entry...
"'Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?' He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do" (John 6:5b-6).
I've never paid much attention to the question Jesus asked his disciple, Philip, before he performed the miracle of feeding the 5 thousand. Today however, it felt as if Jesus was asking me the very same question. "Crystal, where will the provision come from so that you, Aaron & your 3 sons will be able to leave your home, Aaron's job, etc. and move to Maryland for 10 months? How will this be possible now that you not only have one son to care for, but 3...under the age of 2?"
Sadly, I feel my response to these questions has at times been like Philip's and Andrew's. I wonder how it will be possible if our house doesn't sell or we aren't able to save enough money, etc. I fail the test when I merely look at the "five barley loaves and the two fish" that we have, instead of looking to our all-powerful Lord who is asking me the question.
Thank you, Lord, for the faith you have imparted to me to look to you afresh and to trust you to provide even when I can't see how the provision will come. Forgive me for the times I've doubted you and have become anxious. Help me Lord to trust you whole heartedly. We don't know what to do but our eyes are on you."

Just as the Lord has and will provide for our practical needs, we are also trusting Him to equip us and to use us to care for His Church which He has purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28). What an amazing and humbling privilege. We come with much weakness! We are asking the Lord to strengthen us with His grace, to further equip us, gift us, etc. Please Keep us in your prayers! ;)

Come Weary Saints

We are all doing very well here at the Law home! God's grace is amazingly sufficient, as He has promised it always would be. I am thoroughly enjoying this season of being a mom of 3 sons. It is definitely a busy season, yet full of joy! More of an update to come...but for now, here is something to encourage your soul. :)

Sovereign Grace has come out with a new worship album which I absolutely love! Aaron gave me an mp3 player loaded with about 30 messages, several worship cds, scripture memory verses and the entire New Testament as a Mother's Day gift. My eyes are a little more weary at times during this season of late night feedings and so this gift is a huge means of grace for my soul to be refreshed at anytime throughout the day or night! One of the cds he put on it is Come Weary Saints. All the songs are immensely encouraging but my new favorite, which I have already played more times than I can count, is "As Long as You Are Glorified." Below are the words and a link to hear the song. I hope you are encouraged by it as well!

As Long as You Are Glorified
By Mark Altrogge

Shall I take from Your hand Your blessings
Yet not welcome any pain
Shall I thank You for days of sunshine
Yet grumble in days of rain
Shall I love You in times of plenty
Then leave You in days of drought
Shall I trust when I reap a harvest
But when winter winds blow, then doubt

Oh let Your will be done in me
In Your love I will abide
Oh I long for nothing else as long
As You are glorified

Are You good only when I prosper
And true only when I’m filled
Are You King only when I’m carefree
And God only when I’m well
You are good when I’m poor and needy
You are true when I’m parched and dry
You still reign in the deepest valley
You’re still God in the darkest night
